Your Visit: What to Expect
Whether you are a long-time client or visiting us for the first time, we want your experience to be seamless and relaxing.
Here is a quick guide to how we work.
1. Appointment Confirmation
If you book more than 48 hours in advance, you will receive a confirmation email. If you miss the first one, a second reminder will be sent the following day. While it is not strictly required that you confirm, it is highly helpful for my scheduling.
2. Timeliness
I generally am able to stay quite close to our scheduled arrival time, but factors can alter that. If I am going to be more than 15 minutes early or late, I will text you prior to my arrival.
3. Preparing Your Piano
Please ensure the top of the piano (whether upright or grand) is completely cleared before I arrive. Lamps may remain plugged in – I can usually safely move them to the floor next to the piano while I work.
There is no need to move your piano away from the wall.
4. Arrival and Parking
I typically park on the street. If street parking is unavailable, I will use your driveway and check with you immediately to ensure the location is convenient.
5. Pets and Environment
Dogs: I love dogs! However, if your dog is aggressive, very large, “jumpy,” or prone to loud barking, please have them in another area when I arrive.
Other Pets: Small, friendly dogs, cats, and other quiet pets are more than welcome to supervise my work.
Noise: I don’t mind background noise like conversation or a TV in another room (provided there is no music). However, loud appliances like dishwashers, laundry machines, and vacuums can interfere with the tuning.
Clocks: There is no need to disable chiming clocks -I am happy to pause briefly while they ring.
6. Assessment and Consultation
Assessment: Once I am at the piano, I will ask about any specific concerns beyond “out-of-tuneness.” If certain keys are sticking or problematic, marking them with sticky notes or tape is very helpful.
Questions: We’ll chat at the start of the appointment about any questions you have. I will likely have questions for you as well as I prepare to tune.
7. Pricing and Process
Pricing: You can expect the prices quoted on my website to be what you will pay. If I discover the piano requires work beyond the quote, I will notify you within the first 15 minutes to discuss your options.
The “Zone”: While I am tuning, I generally do not answer my phone, to maintain concentration. When you hear me playing musical tests and short pieces, you’ll know I am finishing up.
8. Payment Options
I accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience. My order of preference is:
| Preference | Payment Method | Note |
| 1 | Cash or Check | 5% Discount Applied |
| 2 | Venmo or CashApp | |
| 3 | Debit or Credit Card | |
| 4 | PayPal | |
| 5 | N/A | I cannot accept Zelle or Bitcoin at this time. |
I will email a receipt to you later the same day.
